Miele Murray is a based up-and-coming puppet designer and creator based in the Washington, D.C. area. A recent graduate of the University of Maryland, College Park, she aspires to enhance the presence of puppet artistry in the Mid-Atlantic region and beyond.

Miele is a two-time winner of the Jim Henson Award for Puppetry in association with the University of Maryland’s Department of Theatre, Dance, and Performance Studies. She has produced independent works for the college’s Experimental Performance Series, as well as creating a 3D-modeling exhibition for the university’s New Works Incubator (College of Immersive Media Design).

Alongside her passion for character design and mechanics, Miele also has aspirations in directing, creative writing (play/prose/poetry), acting, classical singing, traditional rendering, robotics, and fiber arts.
